Reading is a beautiful gift. It is a stress free activity that transports us to diverse realms from the comfort of our own homes. Have you ever fully immersed yourself in a book?

I loved reading as a child. I couldn’t wait to go to the library and would borrow as many books as were possible! I loved cosying up under my duvet and being whisked off to many different lands, meeting so many characters and feeling connected. Connected to this incredibly creative world where there are no boundaries, only endless possibilities.

As I grew to be a young adult, I let modern technology get in the way of me and my beautiful friends – books.

Have you replaced your imagination with social media sites and modern technology? Let’s get a healthy balance back in our lives. This IT era has so many positives. It allows us to do so much and learn so much at the touch of a button. It has given me the opportunity to create my blog! Technology is here to stay so how can we embrace it without feeling overwhelmed?

I firmly believe that moderation is key to a contented life. Can we make more of a conscious effort to communicate mindfully with our family and friends? And can we try to manage our social media interaction more effectively? Give your imagination back its wings and lose yourself in the pages of a good book.

I’ve rekindled my love affair with books. I thoroughly enjoy my trip to the library. If I can’t renew my books in person, I can renew it online. We are blessed to have such fantastic community libraries. Let’s support them.
